Today more and more musicians create music on the crosspath between traditional acoustic musical instruments and electronics. Independently from genre, electronic tools open a whole new dimension in creative music making fromcomposing and producing to performing live. Though use of electronics is getting more and more normalised / accepted in the world from european classic, to jazz to experimental and contemporary academic music, it is often not being taught as a part of the curriculum in music schools and other institutions. Most likely a musician who studies a traditional classical instrument will master their instrument first as a part of the traditional education and will explore electronic field after mastering their instrument or voice to a certain level. Therefore for many the entrance into the world of electronic music stays behind a barrier of learning a whole new medium that needs to be understood and internalized on the same level as the instrument that they spent years to master. Through his solo project 5 String Theory Alexey Kochetkov developed unique ways to use Ableton Live (one of the most common digital audio workstations) as an integral augmentation of the violin. The knowledge that he accumulated since the start of the project in 2018 Alexey delivers through workshops and private lessons. A workshop Electronic Music for Classical Musicians 101 was succesfull attracting students among classical musicians, and through private lessons and coaching Alexey helped numerous ensembles and musicians to enter the world of electronic music including Sonar Quartet, This Sax guy and.
