ADAGIO FOR COSMIC STRINGS - AMBIENT SET
Neoclassical yet experimental, meditative yet evocative, Adagio for Cosmic Strings is an ambient sound-art performance that draws inspiration from astrophysical ideas and embodies the artist’s fascination with the majestic beauty of the cosmos. Exploring the symbiosis of violin and electronics, 5 String Theory crafts otherworldly soundscapes, taking listeners on a sonic journey that resonates long after the final tone fades.
VIOLIN & ELECTRONICS IN 3D-SOUND
Since 2024, 5 String Theory has been collaborating with composer and spatial sound researcher Andrey Bundin. Together they have organized several concerts in Berlin, Hannover, and Braunschweig, offering audiences a unique listening experience in immersive 3D sound. The program featured works by both composers and included Bundin’s distinctive piece Smartphony for violin, electronics, and audience cell phones. The 2024 program was titled Violin & Electronics in 3D Sound, while the 2025 program carried the title A Midsummer Night’s Dream. On June 7, in collaboration with Thomas Geiger and the Marana Collective, they organized a one-day festival featuring Xani, Bison Rouge, Ambisolace, and several aerial artists from the Marana Collective itself.

The name 5 String Theory references the famous String Theory from the world of physics, that claims to be the theory of everything. This multidisciplinary performance is a playful reflection on this idea, presented through music, light, performances and narrated.

ACOUSTIC SOLO
A fully acoustic solo five-string violin program that compresses the dynamic range of an entire orchestra into a single-instrument performance. Drawing inspiration from the works of Bach, Paganini, and Yesai, with influences from contemporary genres such as electronic, pop, and modern classical music, this program creates a unique fusion of tradition and innovation. These concerts take place exclusively in spaces with rich natural reverb: abandoned warehouses, old water tanks, churches, and similar venues. Technically impressive, musically intriguing, and emotionally breathtaking, 5 String Theory’s acoustic set offers a singular experience for discerning violin lovers.
